Perpetual Watch Lover (PWL)

IWC cal 85 with twisted lugs

For sale is this beautiful unishell cased IWC with twisted lugs from the early 50's. Sporting the original crown and a serviced cal 85 movement on the inside. What makes these early 50's IWC's so interesting is their movement design. An Automatic work that has his own patent and work in a rather unique way called the Pelatton automatic works. Invented by Mister Pellaton the movement designer for IWC in thd early 50's. The cal 85 is the second generation of this movement making it a crazy piece of history.

The unishell case made that watch more waterproof back in the days since there is no caseback present. To take a look at the movement a professional watchmaker has to remove the crystal and the split original crown to get inside. A very nifty way to make the watch more sturdy towards the elements. Nowadays we would advise to not wear a vintage watch near water.

Dimensions: the twisted lugged case has a diameter of 35mm and a lug width of 18mm making it a great strap watch.

The dial has turned to a beautiful bronze patina and sports the numbers on the quarters 3,6,9 and 12.
