Omega Constellation 168.016 – Day-Date Chronometer | Circa Late 1960s–Early 1970s

Up for sale is a distinguished Omega Constellation reference 168.016, featuring a rare Day-Date complication—an elegant and practical upgrade to the classic Constellation line. Produced in the late 1960s to early 1970s, this reference showcases the fine balance Omega struck between luxury, precision, and functionality during this golden era of Swiss watchmaking.

The Constellation line, launched in 1952, has always represented Omega’s most accurate and prestigious models. The 168.016 carries the hallmark observatory medallion on the case back, symbolizing its chronometer-certified status.

This model is powered by the Omega Caliber 751, a highly regarded automatic movement featuring both day and quick-set date complications—rare for its time. The watch has been fully serviced and is running precisely.

The case is crafted from stainless steel and measures approximately 36mm in diameter (excluding crown), with a slim profile and classic pie-pan or sunburst dial depending on the variant. The original dial on this example features applied baton indices, a framed day-date window at 3 o’clock, and the Constellation star at 6.
