Omega Constellation Oyster Date 168.033 | Cal. 1001 | 1970 | Original 1125 Bracelet

Available here is a sharp and increasingly hard-to-find example of the Omega Constellation Oyster Date, reference 168.033, powered by the ultra-thin in-house Caliber 1001. The serial number (SR30129991) places production in 1970—a moment in Omega’s history defined by technical ambition and evolving design.

This reference stands out for its “C-case” design and screw-down caseback, differing from some earlier Constellation models with monocoque construction. The stainless steel case remains in strong, honest condition with original brushing and defined edges still present. The caseback features the iconic Observatory medallion, crisp and fully intact.

The silver sunburst dial is clean and evenly aged, with applied indices and a rare dial layout placing the Omega logo above 6 o’clock—a subtle but notable departure from the more common 12 o’clock placement. A framed date window at 3 adds practicality without disrupting the balance of the dial.

Inside beats the Omega Caliber 1001, a slim automatic movement developed in-house to meet growing demand for thinner wristwatches in the early '70s. It’s running reliably and keeping good time.

This watch is offered on its original Omega 1125 bracelet, fitted with correct 560 end links. The bracelet is in excellent condition, full-length, and wears comfortably on the wrist, finishing the piece with historical and aesthetic integrity.
