Omega Seamaster Chronometer Ref. 168.024

A beautiful and highly collectible vintage Omega Seamaster Chronometer, reference 168.024, dating to 1969. This reference offers the classic understated character of the Seamaster while adding the distinction of an officially certified chronometer movement.

The 35mm stainless-steel case has the elegant proportions and distinctive faceted lugs typical of this generation. The dial has developed a warm, naturally aged patina, with applied baton markers and matching period-correct hands. The date display at 3 o’clock adds practicality while retaining the clean and balanced appearance that makes these early Seamaster models so appealing.

Powering the watch is Omega calibre 564, an automatic chronometer movement from one of Omega’s most respected vintage movement families. The calibre operates at 19,800 vibrations per hour and features Omega’s convenient quick-set date mechanism. Its combination of robustness, accuracy and ease of use makes the 564 particularly desirable among collectors of vintage Omega watches.

The watch is completed with a stainless-steel beads-of-rice bracelet, perfectly suited to the character of the watch and giving it a distinctly period-correct appearance.

A particularly charming example of the 168.024, combining an attractive aged dial, classic Seamaster design and the added appeal of chronometer certification.
