1962 Grand Seiko First “J14070” – Cal. 3180

The watch that started it all. Technical background

The Caliber 3180 was developed by Suwa Seikosha as a high-precision manual movement built to chronometer standards. The J14070 combines elegant proportions with excellent finishing and remarkable mechanical quality for the era, helping establish Grand Seiko as a serious competitor to the finest Swiss dress watches of the period.
