Omega Constellation 167005
€2.575Omega Constellation ref. 167.005
There is just something about a really good 167.005.
This is one of those watches that perfectly captures what made the Omega Constellation such an important watch in the 1960s. Simple, elegant and incredibly well proportioned, with that unmistakable Constellation dial and applied faceted markers.
This example has a particularly beautiful silver pie-pan dial, with the raised outer section catching the light exactly as it should. The applied hour markers, dauphine hands and Constellation star give it that classic Omega look, while the clean steel case keeps the whole watch wonderfully understated.
Inside is the Omega calibre 561, one of Omega's great automatic movements and a chronometer-certified calibre. The 561 is one of the reasons these Constellations make such fantastic vintage daily watches: beautiful to look at, but with serious watchmaking underneath.
The serial number is 20920XXX, dating this example to around 1963.
A very honest, classic Constellation and exactly the sort of vintage Omega that never really goes out of style.
