Omega Seamaster 166.009

Now this is a proper vintage Seamaster.

I have always had a soft spot for these. There is something so good about the proportions of the 166.009 — clean, understated and unmistakably 1960s Omega.

And this one has exactly the kind of dial I want to see. The silver crosshair dial gives the watch a lot more character than a plain dial, with those long applied markers, sharp dauphine hands and beautifully balanced Seamaster typography. Add the date at 3 and you have one of the most wearable vintage Omega configurations there is.

The calibre 565 inside is another big part of the appeal. A proper workhorse from Omega's golden period, with quickset date and automatic winding. This particular example has also been serviced, making it ready to wear rather than simply admire.

A really lovely example of the classic Seamaster formula: great dial, great movement, great proportions and absolutely no unnecessary fuss.
