Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Ref. 2552.80 | Cal. 1120 | 2006 | Silver Bezel | No Box or Papers
A clean example of the classic Seamaster Diver 300M Ref. 2552.80, dated to 2006 and distinguished by its uncommon silver bezel. This reference predates the Co-Axial era, housing the revered Omega Caliber 1120—an officially chronometer-rated, non-Co-Axial automatic movement built on the ETA 2892-A2 base and refined to Omega’s specs.
Background & Design
First introduced in the 1990s, the Diver 300M collection modernized Omega’s professional dive watch offerings and gained cultural significance as the on-screen timepiece of Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond. The 2552.80 reference represents the midsize automatic version (36.25mm case), a more wearable and proportionally elegant take on the full-size 41mm 2531.80.
Despite its slightly more compact dimensions, the 2552.80 retains all the hallmarks of the original design: wave-patterned blue dial, skeletonized sword hands, applied indices with luminous fill, and a functional helium escape valve at 10 o’clock.
The rarely seen silver bezel insert on this example shifts the entire visual character of the watch—elevating its versatility and delivering a more subdued, metallic contrast against the deep blue dial.

Enthusiast Notes
The Caliber 1120 was a mainstay of Omega’s professional line before the Co-Axial architecture began to dominate the catalog. It is known for its reliability, ease of service, and precise performance. The 2552.80 makes a strong case for a practical dive watch in a midsize package—understated on the wrist, but unmistakably Seamaster.
This silver bezel version is less commonly seen and lends the piece a dressier edge, standing apart from the standard blue-on-blue configuration without straying from the core identity of the Diver 300M. It wears confidently on a wide range of wrists, balancing tool-watch credentials with refined proportions.
