Rolex Datejust 1601

A proper classic.

This is exactly what a vintage Datejust should look like.

The 36mm Datejust 1601 is one of those watches that simply got everything right. The silver sunburst dial, applied black baton markers, crisp hands and that iconic Rolex date window under the Cyclops all come together beautifully.

And then there is the white gold fluted bezel. It catches the light like crazy and gives the watch that unmistakable Datejust character without becoming flashy.

I particularly like this one on the Jubilee bracelet. It is the combination that made the Datejust such an icon in the first place — elegant, but still completely wearable.

Serial 2306XXX, dating this example to around 1969.

A fantastic vintage Rolex with the right proportions, the right dial and the right amount of age. One of those watches you can put on with absolutely anything.
