Rolex Oyster Perpetual 5500

WOW. This is a lovely one.

There is something about a really clean vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual that I absolutely love. No date, no complications, no unnecessary fuss — just the Oyster case, a beautiful dial and that unmistakable Rolex presence.

This ref. 5500 has a fantastic silver sunburst dial with beautifully aged applied baton markers. The dial is wonderfully clean, with the classic ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL printing and PRECISION designation. The sharp black hands and fine outer minute track finish it perfectly.

And at 34mm, these wear exceptionally well. Smaller than a Datejust, but with that same fantastic vintage Rolex character. Put it on a good leather strap and you have one seriously cool everyday vintage Rolex.

Serial 3377XXX, dating this example to approximately 1972.

Understated vintage Rolex at its best. This is exactly the kind of watch that doesn't need to shout.
