Rolex 6105 Semi Bubble Back | 1953 | 10ct Gold | Ultra-Rare Reference

This is one you don’t see. At all.

Up for grabs is a true sleeper grail: the Rolex 6105 Semi Bubble Back, cased in 10ct solid gold and dating to 1953. This is not your run-of-the-mill vintage Rolex. The 6105 is an exceptionally rare reference, produced in low quantities and almost never seen in gold. Most collectors haven’t held one. Some haven’t even heard of it.

This example features the transitional semi bubble back case profile, striking a perfect balance between the early bulbous Oysters and the cleaner profiles of the mid-50s. It’s 34mm, but thanks to the thick gold case and design, it wears with substance.

Adding to the charm is the original coin edge bezel — sharp, tactile, and pure early Rolex DNA. These bezels were fragile and often polished into oblivion. This one survived.

The case itself is well worn, but well cared for — an honest piece with decades of history etched into its surfaces. No over-polishing, just natural patina and presence. A collector’s watch that wasn’t hidden away, but lived and appreciated.

Fitted with a service dial and hands, clean and evenly matched, with warm gilt text and luminous plots. Underneath, the movement is freshly serviced, running strong and covered by a 2-year mechanical warranty.

The original non-screw-down Brevet crown is still present — a key and often-missing detail on early Rolex Oysters, correct for this reference.

The 6105 is among the rarest references of its era — especially in this configuration. These simply don’t come up, and certainly not in this condition, with this level of originality.

If you're looking for a watch that stands apart from the endless sea of Subs and Datejusts — something few even know to look for — this is it.
