Seiko Cronos Seahorse J13032 — 1961

A particularly characterful example of the Seiko Cronos Seahorse, reference J13032, dating to November 1961. The Seahorse was introduced as one of Seiko's early purpose-built waterproof watches, and the J13032 is one of the most interesting models from this early period. (The Seiko Guy)

This example features the rare black dial, complemented by applied baton markers and elegant dauphine hands. The dial and hands show attractive, authentic signs of age, giving the watch a strong vintage character without losing its original mid-century appearance.

Inside is the hand-wound Seiko Cal. 54 with 21 jewels. The J13032 and its Cal. 54/54A movement are historically important in Seiko's development, with the Cronos line later influencing the first King Seiko. (TokeiMedic)

The stainless-steel case measures approximately 35 mm and is fitted with an acrylic crystal and an 18 mm lug width. Serial N111607 dates this particular example to November 1961.
