This is such a cool Tudor.

There is something about these early Tudor Oysters that I absolutely love. They have all the visual language of the Rolex Oyster world, but with a character of their own.

This ref. 7991 has a fantastic vertical brushed silver dial, with the applied baton markers catching the light beautifully. The small Tudor rose at 12, the clean black printing and those wonderfully sharp hands make this a seriously attractive watch.

The 34mm Oyster case is beautifully proportioned, with the characteristic polished bezel and brushed case surfaces. And of course, the Rolex connection is everywhere — from the Oyster case to the Rolex-signed crown.

Inside is the Tudor manual-winding calibre 2402, a wonderfully simple and robust movement. No date, no unnecessary complications, just a proper vintage Oyster that you wind and wear.

The serial is 663XXX, placing it in the 1960s period.

A fantastic understated Tudor, and exactly the sort of watch that looks even better on the wrist than it does in photographs.
